3 Sentence Ficathon 2010

This was so much fun last year, so I'm doing it again!

The rules:

This is a challenge where you answer a prompt with a fic consisting of only three sentences. It's open to all fandoms and you can post and answer as many prompts as you like. Only one prompt per comment please.

When posting a prompt please format it this way:

fandom, character/pairing, prompt word/sentence.

Lastly, please pimp this to your flist, I'd like as many as possible to come and participate!

"Oh, my god," she half-shouts, and picks up her phone to call Lily- she's found Barney's doppleganger.

There is no question which is the better son; Regulus is the image of a proper Pureblood young man, listens like he is supposed to, does not dishonor his family in any way.

(There is also no question which son Walburga loves more, with the cold, implacable love that is the only kind she has ever known; her eldest is wild, unruly, headstrong, a disgrace; and to think of what all that stubborn, proud character he shows could do if it were aimed where she wished it would make her weep in frustration, if she were inclined toward weeping.)

But there are things that cannot be changed; and her son he may be, but she will not stand for being defied; her principles will have to fill the absence of her boy.

Kate left Neal the clues out of love, she left the bottle, tapper her cyphers.

Kate got on that plane out of love, she turned around and beckoned Neal onward, hurried him along.

It was just a shame that it wasn't Neal Caffrey's love she did it all for.

That weed was strictly forbidden in the school – so much so that it wasn’t even a written rule, merely Understood – and that Mr Keating probably smoked his fair share of it was enough to entice them to try it when the rest of the Society was gone. Knox took a deep drag and tried vainly, but with much bravado, not to cough; his eyes bulged and his hand shook when he passed the joint to Charlie, who laughed and took his own deep toke and closed his eyes.

As Knox expelled the acrid, burning-leaf smoke, Charlie heard him breathe a weak but triumphant, “Yawp!”

Dead Poets Society, Todd & Mr Keating, familiar faces passing on the street

(oh man, sooooo long since i've seen this movie XD)

He thinks about his boys; those boys he loved so dearly, those boys he still feels he failed, sometimes (the one boy whose fate makes him weep, even now).

He wonders if anything he said helped--if even one of them found courage in his words and took it to heart, and grew into the kind of man he saw in them from the start.

The day he sees Todd again, out of the blue, no warning for it, he almost doesn't recognize him at first; Todd stands taller, unashamed, quiet confidence with no stain of arrogance lining his form; and when Todd sees him and breaks into a smile, and finally whispers a heartfelt thank you, sir, it is the brightest thing in the world.
