Sam rolled out of bed, rubbing the sleep out of his eyes, and pulled on his clothes, intent on finding somewhere to get some coffee before he had to get back to his research. He opened the door, stepped outside and stopped; for some reason, the sky caught his attention, shining that perfect shade of blue you only saw in movies, complete with fluffy white clouds and singing birds.
The fact that, after all the crap he and Dean had been through, after everything he personally had screwed up, the sky could still look so...pretty, gave him the teeniest, tiniest bit of hope that maybe they could still come out on top.
