I really love how you phrased this and this always stays in the back of my mind every time Jake displays his growing prowess as a commander- it’s absolutely necessary but it’s also so sad; he’s just so young for this.

can't fail his ragtag group of trying-to-preserve-our-freedom fighters; he is the leader and that means he has to be the best

That's one of those things that hits me more and more as I age: it made more sense, somehow, when I was Jake's age, but now that I'm actually an adult I'm just like... so young.
