The entries are a bit dull, full of hyperboles, comma splices, purple prose and--dear god, is that an exclamation mark with a heart instead of a dot? Then there are the doodles marking almost every single page: the most frequent of these are boys' names (Finn, Finn, Finn, Puck, Finn, Puck, Finn, Finn, Finn, Finn, Finn, Shu, Finn) and more hearts. I was just about to laugh at her lameness when a single entry caught my eye: ":(" was all she wrote; and I stared and stared and stared.

Great descriptions of what her diary might look like. I have visions of her drawing hearts around Finn's name. Thanks for this, it made me smile and then wonder what the sad face might be about.
