A Mac Named Edgar
I have decided to name my MacBook Edgar, say hello.
Birthdays are brilliant, I got seven books from my friends and ca. 500 kr from my aunts and uncles. I'm going to go buy myself a sweater for those money.
The three sentence fic-a-thon is still going strong and here's the ones I've written this week:
Chronicles of Narnia, Jill/Edmund, lie back
Just Jill, pre LB, Jill/Edmund, pg
The first time she ever saw him it was like a jolt through her spine and she had to take an extra breath to slow her beating heart. He was looking straight at her and his eyes burned with such heat and it left her feeling bare and vulnerable; like he could see right through her.
The first thing he ever said to her was, "Are you all right?" because he could see straight away that she wasn't acting right; she lied and said, "yes," because she couldn't very well tell him that she was not; the reason being that his eyes was so beautiful, and that she had to mentally shake herself and remind herself that this was King Edmund and she was just Jill.
Author's Choice, born to lead and bred to follow
Narnia, ensemble, pg
There is a saying about the four monarchs that has survived all the centuries after they left. It's been around for so long that you can't be sure if it's true:
King Peter was their leader, and King Edmund was their guide, Queen Lucy was their inspiration and Queen Susan was their light.
Chronicles of Narnia/Harry Potter, Edmund/Draco, mistakes
Mistakes, Edmund knows all about making mistakes and not realising that they were mistakes until it was too late.
He was sitting quietly by the bar listening to the blond man telling him all about his mistakes over brandy and scotch; that was after all why he was there, to listen and tell him that no one is perfect, but that everyone can be forgiven.
Later, when Draco grows silent Edmund will tell him his story, and tell him how doing anything to protect your family can never be wrong, no matter what.
Narnia, Peter and Edmund, battle plans
The table is filled up with different pieces of paper and maps of every corner of Narnia and of every known country beyond; Peter's eyes are red-rimmed and he's starting to see double; yet Edmund is relentless and won't let him leave until they have a working plan of attack.
I need sleep, you need sleep, Peter says, and Edmund barely gives him a glance in acknowledgment, I can't sleep until I know what we're going to do, he answers and continues on reading.
Peter sighs and sits down beside him; he's right, of course; what's a king's sleep, when his country is in danger?
Narnia, Edmund, growing up the second time
Often he feels like he is floating in a river (Life is comfortable, but boring,) he's waiting, waiting for the day he no longer has to pretend to be growing up.
It's only his body that's growing (His mind is full of twenty-five years already, thank you very much!) and since it has happened once before it brings no surprises either (He firmly believes that England has stolen one inch from him, Peter says that's not true) though he gets pretty bitter when he has to endure those growing pains again; when he has to go through the awkward stages of tripping because he's not used to his height (his mother thinks it because he's getting so tall, his siblings knows it's because he is not tall enough.)
The day he reaches the magic number of the height he had in Narnia, he goes outside and smokes a cigarette while watching the starry sky; he takes a deep breath (the air is dirty here anyway, who cares if he smokes?) and smiles at the moon; it won't be long now (Narnia is waiting.)
Chronicles of Narnia, Edmund, school.
School is ridiculously easy, and he's bored before the teacher manages to even open his mouth and start his lecture.
He does not need any more grammar lessons, (thank you very much!) his teacher in Narnia beat his tendency to forget commas right out of him after three months under his tutelage (Funny how English and Narnian grammar is exactly the same.)
Math he can do in his sleep- the only subject he has to put a little effort into is History, he actually enjoys it, but still he can't help but being exasperated at how England handled some wars; no wonder they lost the empire.
Edited to add another that I had forgotten. Another Narnia one.
