It's been ten years but she's still Rachel-- he sees it in the ridiculous vibrant look in her eyes, in the words she shares, of Broadway and dreams fulfilled every single day, and all he can think is, I gave this up?
He's learned a little since high school-- not much, most people would say, but enough of maturity to know that he didn't deserve Finn's forgiveness, that he would have been an awful father (then), that there were consequences to every action and that really, he should think things through more often.
But he's still Puck and she's still Rachel, so instead of saying hello he grabs her and kisses her, his hand tangling in her hair, and he can feel a smile curving against his lips, so he smiles back and sets her back on her feet, just like you should with a fairytale princess (one who was totally willing to make her own happy ending, and what was hotter than that?).
