You still find his steely determination and never-ending optimism baffling, yet mesmerising at the same time; it grates on your nerves when you finally realise that he only sees the back of his best friend and no one else.
You can never be to him what Uchiha Sasuke was, and still is, but you will stand by his side if it means that you will get to bask in the light of his happiness for a bit longer.
And so you smile at him, heart clenching at the sky blue of his gaze and say, "I will help you save him, Naruto."
