Star Trek, Jim/Bones, celebration.

It's his birthday and he's just been promoted to Admiral so he should be happy. But it's also the anniversary of his father's sacrifice and the last time he'll see his ship (lovely lady that she is) for a long while. But then Bones comes into his cabin to warn him of "Romulans bearing gifts" and he can't help but be happy.

(Is that Ianto in your icon, by the way?)

This is so lovely because you managed to make it both happy and bittersweet. The thought that Jim's birthday will always be George's anniversary is a powerful one. Love Bones being the one to cheer him up. Thanks for writing this.

I'm so glad, because you've always written such great prompts for me. George is what I always think of when I think of Jim's birthday; it really takes most of the luster from the experience of cake and candles.

Oh, that is Owen. He's actually pretty cute when he smiles. huh.

Thanks re the prompts, even though Jim has no control over it I think he'd always feel guilt. One of my favourite Star Trek fics dealt with Jim's birthday. So much angst for poor Jim. At least he has Bones.

It's hard to find many pics of Owen smiling but he's gorgeous when he does.
