Welcome to the Three Sentence Fic-A-Thon:

Photobucket

This is a challenge where you answer a prompt with a fic consisting of only three sentences. It's open to all fandoms and you can post and answer as many prompts as you like. Only one prompt per comment please.

When posting a prompt please format it this way:

fandom, character/pairing, prompt word/sentence.

Lastly, please pimp this to your flist, I'd like as many as possible to come and participate!

Have fun!

If you have any questions ask them to the first comment.

Edit December 10th: Thanks to the brilliant [livejournal.com profile] grim_lupine we now have a delicious account. So head on over there to find some unfilled prompts: three_sentence_ficathon's delicious bookmarks.

A small note from [livejournal.com profile] grim_lupine who's organizing the delicious archive: "So I'm not familiar with all the fandoms here; sometimes when people post a ficlet they abbreviate a fandom and sometimes they don't (like BSG versus Battlestar Galactica, but I know that one) so I might have it listed twice in the delicious tags. If someone notices something messed up they can comment below." -- So do that, and when requesting something new, please use the fandom's whole name.

Any Final Fantasy fandom, any characters, trust.

FF9, Garnet and Zidane

[identity profile] rinfics.livejournal.com 2009-12-05 06:41 am (UTC)(link)
The princess is a fast runner, and it's taking most of what Zidane has to stay on her trail and complete his mission.

His heart catches in his throat when he sees her standing on the edge of the tower wall--she gives him a little wave and a smile, the look in her eyes telling him trust me and I know what I'm doing--and plummets down to his stomach when she jumps off.

He rushes to the wall, fearing the worst, and sees her zipping down a line; he smiles, despite the gravity of the situation--the princess is growing more interesting by the minute.

Any fandom & characters, mad scientist.

Star Trek XI, Kirk & Scotty, mad scientist

[identity profile] les342.livejournal.com 2009-12-05 01:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Jim loves watching Scotty work, feeling awe when he does. Time and time again he comes up with a solution, a brilliant idea that saves them all that most others could never even dream of. Forget genius, Scotty is like a mad scientist, engineering his laboratory, and Jim knows there's no one else he'd rather have looking out for his ship.

Bas-Lag, Uther Doul/The Brucolac; blood.

[identity profile] betweenthebliss.livejournal.com 2009-12-16 05:02 pm (UTC)(link)
[oh god i love this pairing so fucking much thank you so much for the prompt. hope you like!]

In the years before Armada, time had passed too fast to mark; one battle slipped into the next, and the next, and always there was Uther at his back, the whine of his sword strumming a thousand million possibilities into the air, into his bones. In those days they had poured forth fury til it ran red at their feet, rivers of blood staining their boots, their swords, and lesser men might have shied away from the violence (or from the parts of themselves they must set aside in order to wreak it) but not they.

And at night, when the Brucolac bent his head to Uther's neck, his wrist, his groin, taking what was freely offered-- some might have turned away rather than share so much, but they were not the sort of men who shrank from hard truths, and in those dark unending nights there was no truth stronger than this; Uther's blood singing on his tongue, in his veins, through his unbeating heart, whispering a promise he was foolish enough to believe.

Narnia, Author's Choice, you came back for me

[identity profile] grim-lupine.livejournal.com 2009-12-05 03:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Bleeding copiously from a stab wound in his side, Edmund tightens his grip on his sword and waits for death's hot blow, the final darkness that must be near; instead he hears the sound of bugles and the thundering of hooves, and Peter comes roaring in, a blur of furious steel and golden hair.

Edmund lowers his sword (Peter to the rescue! All of a sudden he remembers the games they used to play when they were tiny) and gasps out, suddenly noticing the pain now that he doesn't need to worry about protecting himself; "You came back for me," he says, and watches scarlet drip down the edge of Peter's sword, puddling on the ground.

"Was there ever any doubt?" Peter asks, lifting an eyebrow and reaching out to cup his cheek; Edmund thinks of the sharp fear in Peter's eyes before the battle, when he'd told Edmund to be careful, and smiles: "Never," he says, and lets himself fall, knowing Peter will catch him.

(LOL, I'm pretty sure I cheated with that last "sentence" there. XD)

He was cleaning mud out from under his fingernails for days. The looks he got from the Herald trainees stung, and it was hard not to hate being hated, not to want to go up to them and tell them that they'd got it all wrong and he wasn't really against 'Lendel - that he was on his side, at his side - more.

But in the evenings, when they were together in his room and undisturbed for hours, he felt that it had been utterly worth it.

Magic's Price, Stefen/Vanyel; autumn.

[identity profile] tayles.livejournal.com 2009-12-06 09:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Stefen knows he's made a difference when Vanyel stops waxing poetic about the death of seasons and the end of things and instead starts remarking how much the bright red-gold of the falling leaves reminds him of Stefen's hair. The change from melancholic gaze to flirtacious smile is a vast improvement, and Vanyel is resplendent in any light to Stefen's eyes. When he tumbles Vanyel into a pile of those red-hued leaves he kisses away the complaints about dirtying Vanyel's whites until Vanyel has nothing left to say.

Fluuuuuuuuuff. It's all I'm good for, you know this.

It is no rain of arrows, nor a stinging hail of leaves. Neither is it the stillness of his sky-blue shape in the desert; it is not even the tremor of betrayal at Sword's changed heart.

It is a tempest of her own making she is caught in, and she must weather this.

I cannot argue with your reasoning. Lovely book.

******

Some nights when Biff can't move due to trampling (all too frequently, in his opinion), he and Joshua sit out and stare at the stars for a while; it's not as if Biff doesn't believe what Joshua says (at this point, it would be ridiculous not to), but he just has so many things he wants to know: "And your dad, he counts all of those?"

Joshua looks down at his companion for a moment, and then nods silently, looking back up at the panorama before them, and he whispers, "And there are thousands more we cannot see-- millions."

Biff is silent for a long moment, and then: "And I thought camel deconstipator was a full-time job," he says, and Joshua laughs and laughs and laughs.

White Collar, Peter/Neal, sleepy morning kisses

[identity profile] betweenthebliss.livejournal.com 2009-12-16 08:17 pm (UTC)(link)
It's not usually Peter's style, sleeping late, but something about sharing a bed with Neal makes waking up early impossible-- something about how he murmurs awake when Peter moves, reaches out blindly for more contact like he can't stand being more than a foot away from him; and Peter's helpless to resist Neal when he's like this, rumpled and sleepy and just begging to be touched. And Peter needs to touch him, to feel the warmth of his skin, the smooth lines and angles of him, and when Neal turns up his face Peter couldn't stop himself if he wanted to; one hand on Neal's jaw, the other on his hip pulling him close, and Neal's mouth is soft and yielding and perfect.

The kiss ends and they look at each other without speaking for a second; the corners of Peter's mouth turn up as he says, "Toothbrushes," and Neal nods gravely, "Yeah, I think so."

It's been a really long day, filled with far too much hiking, and Rodney heaves a sigh of relief as he dials, looking forward to a hot shower and a what passes for a good meal on Atlantis.

"That's strange," he says, and John gives him a curious look as he dials again.

Stargate Atlantis, Shepard, suicidal run to take out the last of the Wraith

[identity profile] vampyreranger.livejournal.com 2010-01-20 10:35 am (UTC)(link)
Sheppard knows he's going to die as he flies his jumper on a collision course with the engine bay of the last wraith hive ship. He's mostly okay with that and thinks this is the kind of death he's always wanted. After all, soldiers never truly retire, they just outlive their usefulness.
