Welcome to the Three Sentence Fic-A-Thon:

Photobucket

This is a challenge where you answer a prompt with a fic consisting of only three sentences. It's open to all fandoms and you can post and answer as many prompts as you like. Only one prompt per comment please.

When posting a prompt please format it this way:

fandom, character/pairing, prompt word/sentence.

Lastly, please pimp this to your flist, I'd like as many as possible to come and participate!

Have fun!

If you have any questions ask them to the first comment.

Edit December 10th: Thanks to the brilliant [livejournal.com profile] grim_lupine we now have a delicious account. So head on over there to find some unfilled prompts: three_sentence_ficathon's delicious bookmarks.

A small note from [livejournal.com profile] grim_lupine who's organizing the delicious archive: "So I'm not familiar with all the fandoms here; sometimes when people post a ficlet they abbreviate a fandom and sometimes they don't (like BSG versus Battlestar Galactica, but I know that one) so I might have it listed twice in the delicious tags. If someone notices something messed up they can comment below." -- So do that, and when requesting something new, please use the fandom's whole name.

It used to be Mom's, is what Daddy won’t say (but Dean knew that anyways).

He scrunches down beside Sammy on the big bed with the scratchy sheets, and shows him how the kalido-thing can turn them into many Deans and many Daddies, and then maybe it won’t be so, so bad that Mommy isn’t here anymore (right Sammy?)
-

...I don’t want it anymore, Uncle Bobby. It makes Daddy sad.

Doctor Who, Doctor/Master, I refuse to be forgiven - I won't give you that victory

[personal profile] samueljames 2009-12-28 11:36 pm (UTC)(link)
So the Doctor absolves him like the egoist that he is as if he gets to decide which deeds are punishable and which ones can be atoned for, worse still he didn't even seek redemption; "I made no confession, you cannot forgive me" he says as tears fall on him "I do not need it." He is evil, has rejoiced in Jack's suffering and torturing his oldest acquaintance simply by manipulating and killing humans but it's who he is, he has loved every minute of his existence since being set free from that dreadfully restrictive Chameleon Arch, he sees no point in pretending otherwise now and denying his very nature. The Doctor urges him to regenerate "I refuse, it is my life to lose and I have chosen", as his life slips away he's aware of the Doctor's embrace but the drumming becomes ever quieter and he welcomes death eagerly.

Susan Pevensie knows men, always has. You show a little curve of neck and lip, keep your smile coy and your head up, smile with your eyes as well as your mouth, lean just a little bit in.

She could catch anyone, but here in England there is no one worth catching.

When she is twelve and just entering into the uncomfortable world of womanhood, she dreams her father's death. She tells herself that it was only a nightmare, but even before the messenger comes back with the news (run through on the field of battle, an honorable end) she knows it to be a lie.

Later, at Camelot, in spite of all the drugs Gaius can give her, fear never leaves her bed; she waits with dread for the day she will dream again.

If Ed was a boy, Peter reflects wearily, as he trudges up to the girls’ room, this would be so much easier: Peter would call her something horrible just to put her in her place; and no fists would be raised (he’s so sick of how everyone at school seems to think that’s the way to solve everything, including a ruddy war ) but Peter wouldn’t entirely shoot down the idea that they could be (then again that’s what he likes about the boys at school, they taught him how to keep a threat always ominously hanging even when he’s too dead beat to carry it out.)

As it is, he’s got one sister in tears and possibly moonstruck(Peter knew he shouldn’t have read her too many fairy stories when she was small); one who’s had it and furiously calls Ed names that she picked up who-knows-where (behind Ed’s back, of course, but that doesn’t stop Peter from giving Susan a warning look) ; and one who raises her eyebrows as Peter slams the door open, entirely unflustered by her big brother’s stormy expression.

“What on earth am I going to do with you?” Peter asks coldly; he’s met with an insolent yawn and an idle “If you hit me, I’ll tell Professor Kirke.”

He thought he could handle it, but everyone was staring, and he thought they knew somehow; Buster was a naturally nervous man and it didn't take much for him to come to the conclusion that he just couldn't deal with this. Call it post-traumatic stress, call it whatever you wanted, but he had to get out of here, away from all these loose seals.

He screamed and fled the tour, interrupting the guide's speech on how kind the marine animals usually were, and Lucille 2, bereft of her usual support, tottered forward on uncertain feet and nearly became quite intimate with a seal herself; with the creature snuffling in her ear and her hand on its warm, damp skin, she vowed not to bring Buster back-- it was clearly too soon for him, and he hadn't even seen the animal with the snappy yellow bowtie (who had decided to make that one the mascot?).

Arrested Development, George-Michael/Maeby, marriage makes Maeby feel ______.
Edited 2009-12-29 23:59 (UTC)

[personal profile] pleonasm 2009-12-30 05:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Marriage makes Maeby feel confused, with a dollop of shame and more than a little dash of confusion. George Michael is so weirdly nice about it, and she thinks he likes being married to her, which is just odd, because they're related after all, and from her parents she's derived the idea that marriage is some sort of demented torture that adults visit upon themselves when they can't think of anything better to do.

Her relationship with George Michael is nothing like a marriage; he laughs and pays attention to her and makes stupid jokes she is supposed to laugh at, too, and that's part of what makes her so uncomfortable, because sometimes she does laugh, and he is a nice guy, but something about this whole thing is just a little off-kilter, because she thinks she might like it a little too.

Arrested Development, Michael, "I've made a huge mistake".
Edited 2009-12-29 23:59 (UTC)

[personal profile] pleonasm 2009-12-30 04:55 pm (UTC)(link)
"I've made a huge mistake," Michael says, the feel of the words so familiar on his lips. If there is one thing that the Bluths are good at, besides lying and cheating and selfishness (because we must include Michael in this family, and he isn't very good at any of these), it is failure, and Michael is intimately acquainted with making mistakes (an arm, a growl, "this is why;" Marta's face, the way George Michael hesitates when something has gone wrong again).

Michael doesn't forget these mistakes, which is something else the other Bluths are good at: there will always be overdrawn credit cards and dead doves in the fridge; Michael sighs and fixes things, and makes new mistakes the next time, because he tries very hard at everything he does, even at living when he remembers.

Somehow this ended up more angsty than tragic. Oops.

It happened by accident. The girls Susan had accepted as friends wouldn't stop talking about these stupid books with The Greatest Vampire Love Story Ever Told, Ever, No Really, They're Fantastic--and lacking recent practice, her Narnia-taught diplomacy failed her; she capitulated.

She hadn't imagined that simply reading books could carry such profound consequences.

Morgana sees the things to come: all the victories, defeats, and muddy moments in between of quiet fierplaces and sparking magic.

*

Susan doesn't know what is to come, not really, not until Aslan tells her that she can't come back, not ever and then there is only one path she can take, with only one destination.

*

She sees her across the street, a mirror image of herself, the water in her dark curls reflecting under the light of the electric lamp, and crosses the street.

Merlin/Narnia, ensemble, getting drunk

[identity profile] grim-lupine.livejournal.com 2010-01-03 07:10 am (UTC)(link)
Arthur may look most like Peter, but he keeps watch like Edmund does; sharp-eyed he keeps Merlin in his line of sight at all times, propping him up when he starts to tip over to the side with a guileless drunken grin; Edmund leans into Arthur's ear and whispers, He's remarkably open for one who has so many secrets; does he know you know? and Arthur's eyes are careful and dangerous when he responds, No, and I intend to keep it that way; you know how to hold a careful tongue, do you not, King Edmund?

Edmund smiles and passes a finger over his sealed lips, leaning back into Peter's shoulder; Peter, who has never been able to hold his drink, mumbles a bleary Ed? and blinks at Edmund confusedly; Edmund says, nothing, Peter, I think you've had enough, and swaps Peter's mug for water.

At the end of the night Merlin is swaying and smiling foolishly, and Peter is little better, but Arthur and Edmund are still sharp; as long as the people they care about most rely on their watchfulness, Edmund and Arthur will remain so.

(Regardless of how the show portrays him, I remain firmly convinced that Arthur knows Merlin's secret and is just waiting around for him to tell him. :D Also, I haven't seen any of season 2 of Merlin, so. :D)
