Welcome to the Three Sentence Fic-A-Thon:

Photobucket

This is a challenge where you answer a prompt with a fic consisting of only three sentences. It's open to all fandoms and you can post and answer as many prompts as you like. Only one prompt per comment please.

When posting a prompt please format it this way:

fandom, character/pairing, prompt word/sentence.

Lastly, please pimp this to your flist, I'd like as many as possible to come and participate!

Have fun!

If you have any questions ask them to the first comment.

Edit December 10th: Thanks to the brilliant [livejournal.com profile] grim_lupine we now have a delicious account. So head on over there to find some unfilled prompts: three_sentence_ficathon's delicious bookmarks.

A small note from [livejournal.com profile] grim_lupine who's organizing the delicious archive: "So I'm not familiar with all the fandoms here; sometimes when people post a ficlet they abbreviate a fandom and sometimes they don't (like BSG versus Battlestar Galactica, but I know that one) so I might have it listed twice in the delicious tags. If someone notices something messed up they can comment below." -- So do that, and when requesting something new, please use the fandom's whole name.

Narnia, Susan, They cannot scare me with their empty spaces

[identity profile] katakokk.livejournal.com 2010-01-14 04:23 am (UTC)(link)
When Susan goes to her first party, her first real party, everyone is dolled up in the latest styles, the neweest cuts, and it is as if there is no war right outside their doorsteps, and Peter is not crashing helicopters and half-killing himself and the Germans, and Edmund too.

They pretend as if there is nothing wrong with the world, as if nothing exists beyond their wine glasses and their nylons (where did they get them? Susan thinks, because you can't find them, not anywhere, and she has looked everywhere) and "How is it going with you and that John fellow?" And then, they dare, they dare to frown upon her, question who this green girl is in their presence, how she dares invade their empty spaces and their hollows, and she is not afraid.

Author's Choice, Author's OTP, the part that made you cry

Faith (The Secret Garden/A Little Princess)

[identity profile] redsilverchains.livejournal.com 2010-01-16 04:10 am (UTC)(link)
Colin is still protesting when she blindfolds him and leaps right into their game (won’t you trust me, sir? she asks, knife at his throat; not with my life, he whispers) and they both slink ghost-like through the manor’s turns and corridors, stealing away the morning as a gypsy and an exiled prince, imagining dusty rooms into underground realms; by the time the great arc of sky is over them and they’re at the end of the Long Walk, he’s rather sure his heart will give out (she laughs with him when he jokes about dying from her, of all things) as she hands him back the Garden’s key and meets his eyes (her wick-green for his moorland grey, he always thought) and says with her lovely dreaming-smile, Take me to the Kingdom, milord.

Spellbound as he is, he can’t summon any courtly speeches that evening (though there’s nothing she likes better than conjuring them up herself, than listening as he blazes through them) as he draws the curtain in his bedroom; the words take leave of him and he only watches as Sara peers at the picture in the moonlight, standing on her toes, then leaning back against his arm and whispering, She looks like…like I always knew mine did.

He doesn’t ask what she means (he never has to anymore), doesn’t question why his eyes burn and blur; he only holds on to her and looks up and trusts that his mother knows they’re here (She does, Sara says, pulling him closer, she does).

Torchwood, Ianto/Owen, recipe for trouble

[personal profile] samueljames 2010-01-13 01:53 pm (UTC)(link)
They tease and they taunt and when Jack leaves they fight, somewhere along the line it becomes a furious fuck against the wall near the sofa because they don't actually make it to the sofa, too busy trying to get the upper hand as they twist and turn to push one another against the wall leaving them with bruised egos and an argument over who should top which Ianto wins because he's more experienced than Owen.

They don't speak of it till the next time it happens and there's less pushing because they don't need to pretend they don't want it, kisses are softer this time and Ianto shows Owen exactly what to do and how to make it feel good calling out Owen's name when he comes.

The girls speculate on the reduction is arguments and Tosh thinks that maybe they've become friends "those two as friends" says Gwen "yeah right, that'd be a recipe for trouble."

Twilight, Jacob, "I want to break free!"

[identity profile] vampyreranger.livejournal.com 2010-04-16 08:29 am (UTC)(link)
Jacob is sick and tired of the roles he's supposed to play- devoted packmate and beloved son and precious friend. Sometimes he just wants to do something wild, something crazy- push his car past the 100 mph meter, cliff dive in wolf form, slam that pussy Edward against a wall and kiss him so hard he shakes. But Jacob is far too responsible to do any of that, so instead he takes long trips on his bike, IPOD blaring Queen, and singing with all his might, "I want to break free!"

Narnia/Merlin/The Snow Queen, Nimueh & Jadis & the Snow Queen, the cycles of time

[identity profile] lettersandliars.livejournal.com 2010-01-14 05:11 am (UTC)(link)
"Would you like to know your faults?" she asks softly, and Nimueh makes a broken noise that might have been a laugh.

Jadis says nothing, only looks up at her blinding whiteness, the fragility of this woman who has outlived them both, and the obscene color of Nimueh's lips in her pale haven.

"Antagonism is a wasted effort," the Snow Queen murmurs, and her fingers brush the hair of the boy at her side--not the first to try to best her puzzle, nor the last--"you see, the race of men will always seek its own destruction; we must wait out the years, simply to be there when its hunger is strongest."

Criminal Minds, Hotch/Rossi, scars

[identity profile] vampyreranger.livejournal.com 2010-01-20 09:03 am (UTC)(link)
A small, vain part of Hotch worries that his scars make him less somehow- less attractive, less powerful, less capable. Rossi shakes his head when Hotch tries to explain his fear to Rossi one night in bed. "Aaron," Rossi says reverently as he kisses him, "Your scars are what make you who you are."

"Hey, what's a girl like you doing in a place like this," he asks, and is immediately embarrassed for using such a tired old phrase, but she's nice enough about it.

"I'm just waiting for someone to come to his senses and return for his true love," she answers honestly, and doesn't give a damn what he thinks about her old-fashioned romantic ideals.

"I had a love once," he remembers softly, "but now we are separated forever and I can't return no matter how I try."

Star Trek, Chekov, more than the sum of his parts

Accidentally turned into slash

[identity profile] vampyreranger.livejournal.com 2010-01-20 09:26 am (UTC)(link)
Chekov is smart and runs fast and knows every word of every engineering manual ever created by heart. He is an excellent navigator, a surprisingly scrappy fighter, and a terrible cook. But to Sulu he is more than any one of those things- he is Chekov and he is Sulu's and that is all that matters.

Star Trek, author's choice, forgive my forgetfulness

[personal profile] samueljames 2010-01-19 01:31 am (UTC)(link)
Pavel has been moody all day, still professional in his work of course and respectful to the captain but he doesn't join in any of the chat on the bridge and he pointedly ignores Hikaru's concerned looks which is takes a lot of effort given that their seats are so close together. When he takes his break he leaves promptly and goes back to his quarters so that he doesn't have to eat with any of his colleagues, today is a tough day and if he can get through the remainder of his shift then he can remember them properly later. When he leaves his quarters Hikaru is waiting for him "I forgot it was your grandparents anniversary, please forgive me", Pavel nods and Hikaru pulls his partner forward enfolding him in his arms and pressing the briefest of kisses to Pavel's curls.

Doctor Who, Doctor/any, shiver

Doctor/Rose, Doctor/Master

[identity profile] faorism.livejournal.com 2010-01-22 02:54 am (UTC)(link)
When he held his dying... held the Master in his arms—blood slick on his knees as the wound refused to stop—stop! stop bleeding, please—the Doctor remembered Rose: how he had to walk away: how he gave her up. He let her go, so why can't he at least have the Master? After all, the Doctor wanted it to stop—stop the loneliness—stop the bleeding—stop the pain in his chest... but the Master refused to begin again—he stopped.

Narnia, girl!Ed(/Peter), my kind of man

[identity profile] lizzie-marie-23.livejournal.com 2010-01-15 02:23 am (UTC)(link)
Her kind of man is tall and dangerous and the tiniest bit moody and she thinks it would be best if he were good with a sword so she could be free to take care of herself without always worrying about him. If she had her pick, he wouldn't ask too many questions because he'd know he wouldn't like the answer and that she'd turn the tables on him and ask impossible things of him. It takes her a while to realize that she's had her kind of man since before she was born.

Glee, Puck(/Rachel), laughter

[personal profile] pleonasm 2010-01-15 04:22 am (UTC)(link)
It wasn't that Puck didn't know how to laugh-- he enjoyed stupid sex comedies and Family Guy and watching people slip on things and fall on their faces-- but she made him laugh about ridiculous things, about weird theories she pulled out of magazines and the way she paused to peer at him and make certain that his one-liner was actually a joke. Rachel Berry was fucking hilarious, and he wasn't sure why, because no one had made him laugh that way before.

There was something about the way her bright giggle matched to his deep laughter, something that made him want to make her laugh just for the sake of it, and he did his best to ignore that as long as he could-- but Rachel never stopped laughing when she was around him, and that always made him smile.

Glee, Kurt, for what it's worth

[personal profile] samueljames 2010-01-16 12:50 am (UTC)(link)
For what it's worth Kurt tried fitting in, wearing the same bad clothes as everyone else but the bullying didn't stop. Apparently before he even knew what being gay was his classmates had figured it out, he used to cry at their taunts not even sure what half of them meant. Whoever said it makes you stronger was talking crap but he doesn't let the hurt show anymore and if he's going to be bullied no matter what then he's going to make sure he looks damn fine while it happens.

Star Trek, Pike(/George), they're all living in his head

[identity profile] grim-lupine.livejournal.com 2010-01-16 05:34 pm (UTC)(link)
That's my boy, George says quietly inside Pike's head, and he isn't crazy, he knows George isn't really there, but he likes to think that George is somewhere, watching out for Jim and maybe possibly Pike as well; Of course he is, Pike says back to the not-George that gives him a little bit of comfort sometimes, he's just as insane as you were.

Oh, he's even crazier, George says cheerfully, so I'd put money on him either destroying the whole world or saving us all, and there is a limit to the conversation one can have with oneself, so Pike drops heavily into his seat and rubs a hand over his tired eyes.

"Hope you're looking out for us, George," Pike says to the empty air, quietly, and turns to his work; if he's haunted by a bright smile and the memory of laughing eyes, well, that's nothing he's not used to.

Reid has been driving Morgan crazy all day- fiddling with his hair, sucking on the end of his pen, lounging against every horizontal surface in the office. And the hell of it is he doesn't realize he's doing it, and even if he did he wouldn't see anything crazy-making about it. The only person who doesn't know how seductive Spencer is is himself.

Jack seems to live inside the Hub, so one day Owen drags him out of his tiny office and sits him down at the nearby pub so they can get good and drunk together, because it's Friday after all, and there's no point if you're not having fun.

A little bit of alcohol loosens his tongue and he explains why there are records of a man with his name in the early 1940s and what happened to get him from that point to this one; Owen suspects there's more to this girl Rose than he's telling, and he says so. Jack nods and tries to laugh it off, but Owen won't let it go because he knows how good it can be to just talk, but for all that he is a doctor, he doesn't know how to heal a broken heart.

Sam is shaken to his very soul. He feels as though he's lost the one thing that separates him from his family- self control. With every harsh word and echoing gun blast he feels his identity slip away and in that moment knows that there will be no escape for him.
