Sam chain smokes as though he thinks it will help; he'd had two packs in his bag when they'd been at the train station, and he's already down to a few more cigs in the second pack. Edmund eyes him warily; the cigarette doesn't fit with the bow and quiver snug across his back, not here. His brother sees him looking and smiles, thin and insincere, and Edmund looks away.
