This is a challenge where you answer a prompt with a fic consisting of only three sentences. It's open to all fandoms and you can post and answer as many prompts as you like. Only one prompt per comment please.

When posting a prompt please format it this way:

fandom, character/pairing, prompt word/sentence.

Lastly, please pimp this to your flist, I'd like as many as possible to come and participate!

Have fun!

If you have any questions ask them to the first comment.

Edit December 10th: Thanks to the brilliant [livejournal.com profile] grim_lupine we now have a delicious account. So head on over there to find some unfilled prompts: three_sentence_ficathon's delicious bookmarks.

A small note from [livejournal.com profile] grim_lupine who's organizing the delicious archive: "So I'm not familiar with all the fandoms here; sometimes when people post a ficlet they abbreviate a fandom and sometimes they don't (like BSG versus Battlestar Galactica, but I know that one) so I might have it listed twice in the delicious tags. If someone notices something messed up they can comment below." -- So do that, and when requesting something new, please use the fandom's whole name.

Ocean's Eleven, Linus Caldwell, defying expectations

They'd prepared, practiced and run everyone through their assigned tasks but they had no way of knowing that on the day of the heist that traffic would be backed-up forever because of a previous accident and now Rusty couldn't help but think about Danny and Linus stranded without a get-away vehicle.

Suddenly his phone rang loudly startling him "we're on our way back, you owe your boyfriend dinner or a blow job or something, he locked the guard in a closet and stole his car keys."

Rusty smiled "that's my boy, saving your ass", Danny laughed but it was true without Linus he could have been on his way back to prison, they'd wipe down the car later and park it somewhere so it could be found but they'd need a better back-up plan in future.

Posted by [identity profile] fiendlikethee.livejournal.com
Guildenstern is a logical man, and this neverending string of heads and no tails is anything but. He gets edgier, suspects un, sub, or supernatural forces at work; he tries to reason out the irrational and can't quite manage (one cannot argue against reality, no matter how good one's premises are); he grows frustrated.

Yet Rosencrantz doesn't seem the least bit concerned--he's always took things as they are without overmuch concern for what that means--and that, in itself, is comforting (that he can always be counted on to remain the same, even as the world around them goes crazy).

Off topic, but since there are lotsa fics of that sort cropping up here—would anybody be interested in starting a book crossover community/fic-fest/drabble-fest/whatever? I know there are already so many tv crossover fests/comms, but one exclusively for book x book would be so cool! I admit, I’m still pretty green to LJ and don’t know the first thing about hosting and whatnot, but I would so enthusiastically participate in something like that!

Just thought I’d bring up the idea.

Good Omens, Crowley/Aziraphale, world's longest courtship

on 2009-12-09 05:24 pm (UTC)
Posted by [identity profile] fiendlikethee.livejournal.com
When, after millennia of something they can't quite call friendship, Aziraphale kisses Crowley, the demon smiles and and pronounces it, finally, the end of the world's longest courtship. Aziraphale frowns reprovingly, reminds him that a courtship can only be counted as such when the parties in it are actually courting, dear.

Crowley just smirks at him over his dark glasses and says, "Exactly."

"Angels," the tall slender boy says, his eyes amused, and Aziraphale is surprised at how completely still the boy (he picks the name Edmund out of the air) is standing, relaxed and casual.

Crowley shifts nervously, his tongue slipping out, and tries to look as angelic as he possibly can, because there is no way in hell - heaven - oh for Christ's - well shit - there's no way he's letting it get out again that he hangs around with Aziraphale. (1)

1 - He really doesn't think Aziraphale will be pleased if this boy spontaneous combusts or comes to harm like the last one.

Chronicles of Narnia, Edmund/war/Peter, how many of them can we make die?

on 2009-12-09 02:28 pm (UTC)
Posted by [identity profile] grim-lupine.livejournal.com
War is not glorious nor glamorous, it does not happen like the clean tales in storybooks, and sometimes it is difficult to find honor in it when blood spills in rivers where they stand. War is about killing--Edmund shoulders a body aside, stabs through another one, keeps one eye on the raging battle and another on Peter (he's always watching Peter, always, couldn't stop for anything in the world)--and Edmund has become very good at killing.

Narnia, Narnia; a rumbling chant shaking the ground beneath their feet: it is for this land (and his brother) that he fights, he kills, he loses count of the dead in a whirlwind of stab thrust parry block PeterPeter they're all dying, but not you--never you.

Um. Not quite sure if this turned out how you wanted. XD

Chronicles of Narnia (PC movie), girl!Edmund and Caspian, "he's so naive."

on 2009-12-09 04:30 pm (UTC)
Posted by [identity profile] grim-lupine.livejournal.com
It would be charming if it weren't so sad: the Narnia that Ed lived and grew up in (or a fair approximation of it, even if it is wilder in this time) is a fairy-tale come to life in Caspian's eyes; wonder fairly sparks off him when he surveys what will be his kingdom, and Ed aches for that innocence so reminiscent of childhood.

She had looked at Narnia like that, once upon a time, her beloved home where she became a woman, learning the hunger-pangs of desire and adulthood, immersing herself in ruling a country; she looked at Narnia like that, before she fell out of that land and back into a world where her wisdom was out of place: little-girl body must pretend little-girl mind, and that was the end of her innocence.

Caspian looks at Narnia like everything there is golden; Ed does not have the heart to tell him that sometimes the gold is too bright to last.

It's late, the club is pounding with the beat of hearts and feet and electronic notes on the air, and she's feeling lost inside her own head, like she can feel what everyone else is feeling, see what everyone else is seeing, and watch the alcohol swimming through her very veins. There's a boy standing by the door, not close enough to the dance floor to be comfortable, too far from the bar to be with someone, and she feels like maybe she should know him, somehow, somewhere, and it's almost like she can read his thoughts. The world spins around her, or maybe it stops and she's the one spinning, but she can see his smile (though he's not smiling) and hear his voice (though he's not speaking), and when he catches her eye for a brief second as he scans the room, she thinks that somewhere they may not be strangers at all.

(Sorry if this wasn't quite what you had in mind! D: )

She had never meant to love him, but somewhere in between the cocky smirks and his surprisingly honest and understanding nature, she ending up realizing that she was bound to this man body and soul and didn’t give a damn about what she should and should not do; she’d go to the ends of the world for him, and she proved that more then once.

But she made a mistake, and now too many years too late she wished she’d never gotten involved with that small child because Arthur was bleeding to death in her arms. “Merlin, I love you-” “Don’t talk! I won’t let you die! It’s not an option!” but not even her most complicated spells and fervent tears and prayers to whatever deities she can think of will save them both from the consequences of her past, and when the light from his eyes leave forever Merlin knows her eyes will never glow gold again, because she died with him.

Ed's cheeks are stained red from the wind, her eyes snapping with vitality, mouth a bruised pink; Peter looks at her and cannot stop looking at her, and his stomach curls in upon itself because he should not be looking.

My sister, he thinks when Ed curls up next to him by the fire, pliant only in her drowsiness, warm and small and everything he should not want but so achingly does.

Their hands rest on the grass next to each other, scant inches apart, but for Peter those inches might as well be miles.

(Right now I'm organizing all the ficlets here on del.icio.us, and I'm very curious to see what the fandom distribution will be. I'm rooting for Narnia to win. :D)

Posted by [identity profile] grim-lupine.livejournal.com
Unfiltered happiness in Aslan's country sounds like everything Edmund's ever wanted, at first, and for the most part it is: he has his family around him (minus Susan, but he knows his sister even if she seems to have lost herself lately, and he knows her path might wind more than theirs, but it will end up in the same place--once a queen of Narnia), and war and violence wouldn't dare to touch the unspeakable beauty around them.

For the most part he is content, except for this: the drudgery of England only served to remind him of what he had lost, but he gained some things there as well: bad habits, and the freedom to partake of them if he so chooses (it always, ultimately comes down to freedom, because Edmund has never been able to stand being told there is something he must not do).

Beauty, happiness, it's all the stuff of dreams; but sometimes Edmund's fingers twitch at his side, reaching for the phantom cigarette he will never be allowed to have.

Chronicles of Narnia, girl!Edmund(/Peter), the spy who loves you.

on 2009-12-10 12:06 am (UTC)
Posted by [identity profile] grim-lupine.livejournal.com
When they were little they would sometimes play spies--Peter would be head spy, Susan would be the damsel in distress he had to save, Ed always wanted to be the villain, and Lucy would play her evil henchgirl until she grew tired and fell asleep with her thumb in her mouth.

In Narnia spies are no game and Peter has finally convinced Ed she's no villain; she's head spy this time, because the fact is that people will underestimate a girl who looks too slender and pale to do any harm, and Peter has to wait on his throne with chest tight until Ed is safely back in the castle.

Ed uses everything she has--everything she has learned about acting a part, plays the foolish enamored maiden desperate for her lover's words, draws her sword when necessary, her quick brain always at the ready (because she has learned painfully the importance of thinking before she acts)--and it is all in Narnia's name, but the name that beats inside her heart is Peter.

Sometimes he looks at her and thinks thoughts his mother would castrate him for - the sort that end with a couple of cold showers in the community centre changing rooms and, when that doesn't work, a few wanks instead (and God, he hopes Weirdo Boy isn't doing his creepy disappearing act then). Sometimes he thinks those thoughts and then catches her eye and remembers that she can read his fucking mind, (and doesn't that just suck all the fun out of fantasising in the first bloody place?) and her responding glare is enough to freeze the bollocks off any man. The first time he kisses her he gets a slap 'round the face (and seriously, it's not his fault for thinking what else she could do with her tongue), and by the time she sticks around long enough for him to say anything at all, the first thing out of his mouth is "can't you ever just switch off?" which is probably a little insensitive, but he's almost certain it'll do wonders for his sex life in the end - she doesn't seem to disagree.
