"This is for you, he answers, and he wants to hug her so badly, but she's to far away, "and for him, but especially for you."

Her answer is cut off by the static and he rushes into the fray, no longer a husband, but a hero.

After the ceremony, Pike makes a point of going up to them and shakes both their hands solemnly before turning to Jim, "That quality I was telling you Starfleet desperately needs - you have it. You saw what you wanted and weren't afraid to fight for your right to keep it."

When Frank's done his worst and made Jim feel three inches tall Jim talks it all out with his dad, it doesn't matter that he never met him because this way he can talk to him in his mind and Frank can't do a damn thing about it.

He talks to his dad about school, pretends George took him on his first day and gave him a pep talk about big boy school and all the friends he'll make while telling Jim how proud he is of him. He talks to his dad about parents day and sports day like he was there with him, even as an adult it's a comfort to talk to his dad before going asleep, the only difference now is he doesn't have to invent adventures anymore.

"They just don't understand," Lucas breathes in her ear, hands deft and utterly brazen when undoing the laces of her dress--but it's a brazenness that is comforting in that it's not meant to shock, it's just his straightforward nature; Lucy finds it comforting because of how familiar it is.

"Love is love, in all its means of expression, and thus cannot be anything but wonderful," Lucy agrees, grinning bright and impish before pressing a light kiss against his cheek; it's an innocent gesture at odds with the path her hands are traveling, but Lucas just smiles back at her cheerfully and brushes their noses together, before cupping her face in both hands and kissing her properly this time.

"If more people understood, perhaps they wouldn't be so unhappy all the time, and maybe there would be no more wars," Lucas suggests, a little breathless, and Lucy laughs against his mouth, saying, "Yes, but then Peter would have no more excuse to go waving his sword around, and he'd be dreadfully sad; perhaps it's best this way."

Star Trek, Frank, jealous of a dead man

He's seen the pictures and the youngest brat is turning out just like his father along with the same reckless attitude that got his father killed and no respect for authority. His wife spends more time away than at home and he sees the look in her eyes when she talks about her dead husband, her eyes don't light up like that for him. He suspects he only got her because she was grieving and that thought eats away at him, relegated to a glorified babysitter that she'll sleep with occasionally he has to wonder if George Kirk was so damn perfect why he ended up taking care of a dead man's family?

Where once he would have caved or more likely be the one making the moves he sidesteps her clumsy kiss because what he's found with Ianto is not worth risking for a quick fumble no matter how pretty the lady.

Jamie ducks into Gaila's room late in the evening, blinding-bright smile flashing across her face when she catches sight of her; her face is pink and looks freshly scrubbed, her hair tied up neatly, and she's walking with a distinctive spring in her step--all in all, everything about her screams of sexual satisfaction.

"I'm beating you now," she announces as a greeting, "Andrew Markson in his room an hour ago," and she leers at Gaila gleefully, who smiles back unconcernedly before saying, "I had him last week; you are still behind."

Jamie's brow furrows, and she says, "Damn; well, it was fun anyway--guess I'll have to try harder to beat you," and Gaila lifts an eyebrow and asks, "Will you be starting now?"; Jamie smirks, and leans in to kiss her wet and filthy, before breathing, "Nah, now's just for us."

(Lol. I don't know where Uhura is while these shenanigans are going on in her room. :D)

Bones is enjoying a drink while he waits for Jim when suddenly he's interrupted "it's a good thing you're on the medical track if you're going to go sleeping with the academy slut, wouldn't want all those STIs in your official file."

His temper flares at Cadet Coyle's remarks and he wants to hit him but not when he's surrounded by his laughing friends, he clenches his fists to his sides because he's not getting kicked out over this jerk.

Bones' answer comes out through clenched teeth and yeah he's that close to Coyle's face that he can probably smell the bourbon on Bones' breath "Jim Kirk is a better man than you'll ever be, probably be your commanding officer one day and if I hear you talking crap about him again I will punch you and it won't be in some brightly lit bar with witnesses either."

David always found himself blushing at Jack's clever words, especially when the Newsies snorted along. But his cleverness always won even David over when Jack would lean back right after and give him an all-knowing wink. It was a wink that would make even the snidest comments fly over David's head as the blushes subsided.

When they stumbled upon El Dorado, the people there were fascinated by Miguel... this fascination extended to their other god as well, but there was just something about his bright eyes and the hair that spilled like spun gold like the finest thread whenever he came alive.

Tulio complained about this with a tiny crease between his dark, dark brows.

Miguel tried to hide a grin at how his clever friend still didn't know that the greatest treasures were unseen, and that Tulio's laugh when he finally let himself go was more precious than all the gold in El Dorado.

Life had brought them to Russia,- she wanted to go back to the Winter Palace, look at it with new eyes; after all, last time she had been there she didn't know it had once been her home.

Anya didn't realise have much she wanted it before she said it out loud; I want to visit my family's grave,- Dmitri looked at her silently, searching her eyes for something, before nodding; Sure, I'll take you tomorrow.

She would never have been able to do this alone, without Dmitri; his presence was grounding her and his warm hand kept her from falling apart; he just held her and let her say goodbye.

It doesn't surprise her one bit that he likes psychedelic rock, in fact it's actually pretty cute. But she doesn't want to escape into a dreamy imaginary world; she wants to act and make things change. So it's heavy metal for her because she gets so angry when people (like Jim and Spock) can't figure out how to get along.

Jim is one of those perky post-orgasm people and he kisses Bones who's happy to lie there and be kissed as long as he doesn't have to respond, "so if I'm Darlin' what are you; angel, baby, cutie-pie, sweetheart?"

Bones grunts at sweetheart "suppose it's better than baby or cutie-pie, now darlin' could you just lie still for a while cos your sweetheart needs some sleep?"
