Welcome to the Three Sentence Fic-A-Thon:
Jan. 30th, 2010 02:25 am![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)

This is a challenge where you answer a prompt with a fic consisting of only three sentences. It's open to all fandoms and you can post and answer as many prompts as you like. Only one prompt per comment please.
When posting a prompt please format it this way:
fandom, character/pairing, prompt word/sentence.
Lastly, please pimp this to your flist, I'd like as many as possible to come and participate!
Have fun!
If you have any questions ask them to the first comment.
Edit December 10th: Thanks to the brilliant

on 2010-01-13 10:25 pm (UTC)Their short relationship is built as steadily as a house of cards and is as easy to topple; if it had only been another time, another place, another set of circumstances-- but it isn't; so when all the secrets come out no one is left holding the aces.

on 2010-01-13 03:23 am (UTC)You could cut the tension with a knife, so I break the silence with, "You know, I liked it better when there were four or five of you at once - there was more opportunity for dynamics - and now you all live in your own little bubble." The very sexy con man and the blonde look at each other to hold hands and an older woman pokes her head out of the kitchen to say to them, "Oh yeah, that totally counts" rolling her eyes "five lousy episodes, big deal - you know, back in my day..."
(this makes more sense in my head, it really does)

on 2010-01-13 10:43 pm (UTC)Boys don't cry, but Kurt is an honorary girl (and yes, he considers that an honor, not because he wants to be a girl or wants to be with one, but because the girls are so much nicer to him than any of the boys are), and he ends up in the last stall in the ladies room, sobbing quietly into his hands and wondering why he thought this was going to end differently than, "Sorry, Kurt, but I don't like boys"; every time he thinks of the way that Finn's face fell when Kurt began to turn and flee, it makes him a little sadder, because he didn't want to make Finn sad or guilty over feelings he could not possibly return; he just wanted Finn to know.
"Hey, Hummel," someone says suddenly, and Kurt swallows his tears; that isn't a girl's voice, it's-- no, can't be-- but then Puck is leaning over the top of the stall, casually taking in Kurt's heartbreak, and Kurt almost wants to hit him, except Puck is handing him a cup and Kurt looks down into a cherry slush that isn't about to be plastered all over his face, apparently.
"You're not supposed to be in here," he says finally, because he can't be smooth all the time and he has a history of saying all the wrong things to football players; Puck just snorts and leaves, but when Kurt finally emerges from the bathroom, his hair and face as repaired as he can manage, Puck is waiting, and he falls into step beside Kurt as they walk down the hall (Kurt isn't quite sure why, yet, or even if he wants to know, but it's a little comforting, anyway).

on 2010-01-12 04:05 am (UTC)It happens so slowly, Jim can hardly tell that they're drifting, but Leonard knows all too well how much they're hurting each other, because he's seen it before, lived it before, and he doesn't want to see it happen again.
-/-
The first thing that tips him off that something is wrong is the sheet of paper on his bed: he always teased Bones because he had to feel the pages or else it never felt real to him, so he knows this is serious.
-/-
He locks himself in his office because he knows that his lover (not anymore, he reminds himself) will be down here any minute to find out what the hell is going on, and he never wanted to be the one to hurt his friend.

on 2010-01-31 05:40 pm (UTC)"Er... yeah, something like that, yes," replied the Doctor brightly, smiling his idiotic smile, "thanks mostly to Martha's field work - well done, you, by the way, spreading the gospel of me!"
Martha blinked dreamily at the Doctor, and sighed as he lifted into the air and began to glow messianically; the Master buried his face in his hands and wished, not for the first time, that he could have put aside his ego and just killed the bastard while he had the chance.

"Doesn't have to be a suicide attempt, I sit here and wait for you to come back praying whatever it is I can fix and you act like it's nothing, like you're nothing" he pauses cautiously hopeful as a look of understanding appears on Jim's face.

on 2010-01-12 05:00 pm (UTC)Chekov holds kitten-Sulu in one hand and watches the tiny scrap of black fur roll onto its back and struggle to roll back over; "What do I do with him?" he asks desperately, looking up at Captain Kirk, who is trying and totally failing at hiding his laughter. Next time they are all in terrible danger and Chekov saves the day, he will make sure the Captain is turned into something adorable and fluffy, and then he will give him to the women on the ship and watch him suffer.
"Well, I'd suggest rolling him over for a start," the Captain says in a choked voice, and dissolves into helpless laughter when kitten-Sulu licks Chekov's thumb and starts purring loudly and contentedly.

on 2010-01-12 05:14 pm (UTC)Edlyn bites Peter's lip hard, drawing tiny drops of blood, and tears at his clothing frantically; Peter growls and pushes her down, leaning closer to trace with his tongue the path of the arrow that almost took his sister in the heart, and when he tries to slow his stuttering breath and gentle his hands, Edlyn rakes her nails down his back and spits out, "Touch me like you mean it, damn it!"; Peter does, there is nothing he means more, nothing more important to him than this moment, and he would lose himself in Edlyn completely if he weren't already lost.
Afterward, he stares down at his hands and feels his stomach clench--this is what he has been fighting against for years, ever since he began to notice Ed's creamy skin and darkly flashing eyes, and realized his sister was rapidly becoming a beauty as well as his best friend; he's always known he wasn't strong enough to resist this forever, but it doesn't make it any easier right now; Edlyn snakes her arm around his waist, drawing him down to murmur in his ear, "This was always going to happen, Peter, it was only a matter of time; I want this and you want this, and the only thing that stands between us is your overblown sense of guilt; I think between your guilt and my desire, we know which is more stubborn, don't we?"

on 2010-01-13 07:44 pm (UTC)It takes time, but finally he realizes that he's coping-- better than coping; he smiles sweetly at her as she scrubs carefully at her piece of fruit, and when someone says joking, "It's almost as if you love her for it," he nods; it isn't that he loves her because she has OCD, or even despite it, but it's okay because it's part of who Emma is, and he loves all of her, good and bad.
